These illustrations celebrate the quiet power of change and transformation. Inspired by the evocative music of Welsh folk artist Mari Mathias — particularly her moving performance at St. Augustine’s Church in Penarth — the piece weaves together personal memories of coastal Wales with Lithuanian folk traditions that mark the end of winter.
Though these two cultures are separated by distance, they share a deep-rooted connection for seasonal transitions and the ancestral stories carried through the music. The work becomes a meeting place between them — a visual reflection of voices, landscapes, and rhythms. Created on flower-seed paper, this artwork is more than something to simply observe. It invites interaction, growth, and regeneration. Once planted, it transforms — taking root in the earth and turning into something new. A quiet gesture of renewal, both symbolic and real.

Mae’r gwaith yn dod yn fan cyfarfod rhyngddynt — yn adlewyrchiad gweledol o leisiau, tirweddau a rhythmau. Wedi’i greu ar bapur hadau blodau, mae’r gwaith celf hwn yn fwy na dim ond rhywbeth i’w weld. Mae’n gwahodd rhyngweithio, tyfu ac adfywio. Ar ôl ei blannu, mae’n trawsnewid — yn gwreiddio yn y ddaear ac yn troi’n rhywbeth newydd. Yn siffrwd adfywiad – symbolaidd a real.
